Sweetwater Creek Ranch is a rare blend of Western ranch lifestyle and gold standard fly fishing.

A little piece of heaven on the Colorado

Tucked away in a quiet Colorado valley at the confluence of Sweetwater Creek and the Colorado River, days at the ranch revolve around the sound of moving water, the movement of elk, and the rise of wild trout. With 165 acres of trails, canyons and hay fields, the ranch offers a place where adventure and the Colorado outdoors merge in an unforgettable way.

Gold standard, year-round trout fishing

Spend the mornings stalking wild trout in forgiving water only steps from the ranch. Explore the Eagle River’s clear, technical stretches. Drift the Canyon and Roaring Fork. All just a short distance from the ranch. Whether a novice, serious angler or neither, Sweetwater Creek Ranch has an adventure itinerary waiting for you. When you’re not fishing, we offer other memorable experiences like white water rafting the Colorado, horseback rides into the Flat Tops Wilderness, hiking in the BLM or just relaxing with a good book.

It’s a destination where fly-fishing and family come together in one timeless retreat where everyone has a place to breathe, room to roam and…water that connects us all.

You’re making a difference

A trip to Sweetwater Creek Ranch not only changes your life—it has a ripple effect that reaches abused and neglected kids who, because of the proceeds of your visit, are able to have a life-changing experience at the ranch. Your visit has a deeper impact—you’re “Casting Hope” to kids who really need it.

The ranch is home to On River Time, a 501c3 non-profit that ministers to children who are survivors of abuse and neglect. Since 2012, On River Time has hosted and mentored over 400 children, using fly-fishing and nature as a means of emotional connection. Each summer and winter, On River Time hosts its annual camps for kids, ages 12-18, as well as its SOAR retreat for its college-age young people. Sweetwater Creek Ranch was founded to not only serve guests who wish to step off the grid and rebalance, but to serve big and bold within local, national and global communities fighting abuse and neglect.

Winston Churchill once said “A measure of a man is not found in what he does, but what he gives.” Because we believe that too, the ranch provides endowment support for On River Time—the more our guests do, the more we can do.
